What we can help with

SEN mentoring in Richmond

I offer at-home SEN mentoring and support across southwest London, Buckinghamshire and Surrey. If you live in areas such as Barnes, Kingston, Chiswick or Richmond, then I can be on hand for in-person SEN support, including home visits and nursery observations.

Remote SEN support

I can offer remote mentoring support via Zoom if you live further afield. If you live outside of southwest London but prefer in-person support, mentoring services would include travel time and associated mileage costs of 45p per mile for the first 100 miles.

Who is SEN mentoring support for?

Wisen is for parents, carers, grandparents, nannies, family members and anyone who wishes to seek support and guidance through a complicated and often conflicting system to better support their child.

What can SEN mentoring help with?

There are lots of ways WiSEN can help your child flourish, and what we offer depends on your specific needs. Some of the common aspects we help with include:

  • Observations to identify triggers, needs and areas of support
  • Tips and strategies to make day-to-day life a little easier for your child (and you!)
  • Nursery visits to create support plans with childcare/education providers
  • Being an advocate to have your child’s voice heard and to feel listened to
  • Behavioural observations and remedies to reduce challenges in all environments
  • A confidential, supportive and guiding voice when it feels overwhelming
  • Navigating family conflicts over their child’s diagnosis or potential diagnosis
  • Offering guidance for educational requirements, assessments and forms
  • Ensuring you have the support to navigate the next steps, one step at a time
Will one mentoring session be enough?

Every situation is unique. It might be that you need one-off support with a particular challenge. Alternatively, having several sessions to see progress across various areas may be more suitable. We will make recommendations, but you can choose how many sessions you’d like.

How much does SEN support cost?

The first call is free. An initial 90-minute at-home consultation costs £150, or a remote 60-minute Zoom consultation costs £100. For visits outside of southwest London, invoices will include travel time and mileage.

Will you speak to my child’s nursery/school?

It will depend on your needs. If you’d like, we can arrange nursery/school visits and discussions with relevant parties to ensure the best outcomes for your child.

What does SEN mentoring involve?

It really does depend on your requirements as to what we can cover. However, it may include strategies, observations, parental support, advice and discussions with relevant childcare providers and family members to create a shared understanding and agreement going forward.
